Study Abroad

In order for students to use VA education benefits for study abroad opportunities, all of the following conditions must be met:

  1. The study abroad program must apply to credits required for completion of the student's degree program of study and not fulfill general education or elective credits.
  2. The study abroad courses must be taught by Pitt faculty.
  3. The study abroad courses must be taught at a Pitt-approved location, and
  4. The study abroad is not being hosted or operated by a third-party (CAPA, for example).

If any of these conditions are not met, the study abroad is not approved for VA education benefits.  Please reach out to your academic advisor to discuss these points before enrolling in a study abroad course.
