The Pitt OVS Team
The OVS team is committed to supporting veterans as they consider a return from military service to academics at PItt. Underscoring this team effort are University of Pittsburgh professionals who provide student resources and support.
Edwin is a U.S. Air Force veteran and has been working in higher education for over 10 years. He holds an Associate in Applied Sciences in Information Management from the Community College of the Air Force, a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Troy University and a Master of Science in Industrial-Organizational Psychology from Kansas State University.
Edwin has served as the Director of the Office of Veteran Services since July 2016. He is responsible for advocating for our students, developing programming that addresses awareness of our military-related student population, and building relationships with campus and regional partners. Edwin is passionate about helping veterans, service members, and their families achieve academic success.
Leah works with new students as they enroll at Pitt and certify for benefits for the first time while assisting current Pitt students new to the Office of Veterans Services and education benefits. Leah represents OVS at events and fairs within the Pitt community and the Pittsburgh region. She is responsible for OVS outreach, communications, and events. She holds a BA from Duquesne University and a MA from Geneva College.
Steve is a veteran, who holds a BS from the U.S. Air Force Academy, a MA from Webster University and a MA from the Naval Postgraduate School. His principle duty is to certify all eligible beneficiaries for VA educational benefits at Pitt.
Brett assists both Outreach and Benefits Coordinators in their responsibilities and creates OVS communication through digital and social media platforms. He holds a BS and a BA from the University of Pittsburgh and is currently working towards his MBA at the Katz Graduate School of Business.
